Are these simply rebottled essential oils?

Do you follow aromatherapy?
Not in the traditional sense. While many of our formulations contain essential oils, our focus is therapeutic function rather than fragrance.
Do you follow Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, or another botanical tradition?
We study many traditions but are committed to none exclusively. We use what works, regardless of where it originated.
What is Mercenary Botanical Logic?
It means every ingredient earns its place. We choose botanicals based on chemistry, traditional knowledge, scientific evidence, safety, and performance rather than loyalty to a particular philosophy or geographic tradition.
What does “Agnostic Apothecary” mean?
It means we remain open to knowledge from every botanical tradition while allowing evidence and performance to guide our formulations.
Using Our Products
Why are your products topical instead of ingestible?
Many concerns involve localized tissues such as muscles, joints, tendons, skin, or nerves.
Topical application allows botanical compounds to be applied directly where support is needed without first passing through the digestive system. Our products are intended for external use only.
How come delivery Methods Differ?
The delivery method is chosen based on the intended purpose of each formulation.

- Ointments remain on the skin longer, providing extended contact time and additional protection for irritated or damaged skin.

Why do you recommend pulse points?
Application recommendations vary by product.
For some formulations, pulse points provide ideal application sites because they are warm, easily accessible, and rich in superficial blood vessels. Other products work best when applied directly over the affected muscles, joints, or tissues.

Are your products natural?

Are your products chemical-free?
No. as everything is made of chemicals, including plants.
Our formulations contain naturally occurring botanical compounds rather than being “chemical free.”
Are natural products always safe?
No, Natural does not automatically mean safe.

Do all of your products smell pleasant?
Because function comes before fragrance. Some of the most useful botanical ingredients naturally have earthy, resinous, smoky, or medicinal aromas.
Why do you specify extraction methods?
Different extraction methods capture different plant compounds. Steam distillation, CO₂ extraction, cold pressing, and other techniques each produce unique chemical profiles that influence performance.

Not necessarily. Both have strengths.
We believe botanicals can play an important supportive role while recognizing that pharmaceuticals remain essential in many situations.
Should I stop taking my prescribed medications?
